Day 1 of 30

I'm resurrecting this blog to focus on Gratitude for the next thirty days. The suggestion was made by Joy, a lovely, fascinating woman. This morning is my gratitude entry for day 1.

I sit in the front living room with dh, sipping hot coffee. We both have laptops in front of us, typing and clicking on the mouse. It sounds like dueling computers. The dogs are laying nearby, chewing on their nylabones. Dd is watching morning cartoons in the family room, which are just the same toons every Saturday morning, but she doesn't complain since we don't have cable, and this is a treat from PBS. Ds is still sleeping, and the cats are playing with something on the kitchen floor.

I am grateful for this laid back, relaxed, Saturday morning. This is the perfect morning, surrounded by family (furry and non-furry), looking forward to the day with no set plans.

i would be extremely grateful for two laptops. i love the picture you painted of hanging with your dh and doing your own thing...the best of both worlds. and there is nothing better than saturday morning cartoons. wand with PBS in charge you don't even have to give it a second thought. it's like having mary poppins pop over for tea with the kids...except you're free to sleep while they enjoy themselves.

I like laid back Saturdays, too. Unfortunately, we spent our Saturday morning at Sam's Club. ew.

We do the dueling computers (me on the desktop, dh on his laptop, dd on her laptop) a lot at night while the boys are doing their own dueling with guitar hero. I guess it could be called the 2008 version of family time? lol!

"My" laptop is dh's old work one that died two years ago, and miraculously started working a few months ago. Today, though, the blue screen of death. Dh thinks we can fix it with a new hard drive, cha-ching! It is on the low priority list for $, so it will remain dead. It was fun while it lasted.
